What wine glass do you use with Chinon?
Question submitted by Val

Chinon is a light body red wine such as Beaujolais Nouveau and other red wines from the Loire Valley : Bourgueil and red Sancerre.

The large bowl found in red wine glasses is recommended to let the wine breathe and release its aromas. The more powerful the wine is, the more complex its aromas are, the larger the bowl has to be in order for the wine to breathe.

Therefore as Chinon is a light body wine, it doesn't need a large bowl such as a red Burgundy wine which is a full body wine.

A white wine glass - 3 ounces glass - is suitable for a light body red wine. However, a typical red wine glass - 4 or 5 ounces glass - is also suitable.

Please note that a wine glass needs to be transparent, stemmed and made of real crystal.
