What is the total production of wines in France divided by red and white wine ?

In 2004 the total wine production in France was 49 million hectoliters, roughly 4 billion bottles of wine.

1 hectoliter = 100 liters = 26.42 US gallons

26 million hectoliters of AOVDQS, AOC and higher:

  •  17.5 million red wine (including rosé)
  •  8.5 million white wine
  •  23 million hectoliters of vin de table and vin de pays
  •  18.2 million red wine (including rosé)
  •  4.8 million white wine
