How many grands crus wine are there in St. Emilion?

The Saint Emilion classification was revamped in 2006.

There are now two wines in the A category, the two best wineries in Saint Emilion : Cheval Blanc and Ausone.

There are 14 wines in the B category such as Canon, Figeac and Angelus.

The A and the B categories can be considered as First Great Growth wines. The others are just Great Growth wines.

There are 46 grands crus (great growth wines).

In total, 62 Saint Emilion wines are listed in the Grand Cru classification.
