What medium-range French wines would you recommend?

We cannot recommend a specific wine. There are so many wines available in France that it would be unfair to specify a wine and forget another.

However it is possible to recommend some appellations such as:

Red wine: Cote de Beaune and Mercurey in Burgundy, Crus Bourgeois in Bordeaux, Crozes Hermitage in Rhone, Chinon in Loire, Saint Chinian and Coteaux du Languedoc, Madiran and Buzet in South West, Bandol in Provence

White wine: Regular Chablis and Rully in Burgundy, Graves in Bordeaux, Sancerre in Loire, Riesling in Alsace, dry Jurancon in South West

Rosé wine: Cotes de Provence, Cotes de Roussillon

Sweet wine: Cadillac in Bordeaux, Jurancon and Monbazillac in South West, Layon in Loire:
